Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023: Falcons thrash Barmy Army to set up summit clash with Warriors

In the 2nd Semi-Final of the Fairbreak Global Women’s T20 2023, Falcons Women defeated Barmy Army Women at the Kowloon Cricket Club to enter the final of the competition. Falcons will now face Warriors in the summit clash.

Barmy Army Women’s innings got off to a poor start as Lauren Winfield and Laura Wolvaardt were dismissed without scoring any runs. However, Deandra Dottin played a crucial innings of 42 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Sana Fatima also contributed with a quickfire knock of 45 runs off 30 balls. Despite their efforts, Barmy Army Women could only manage to reach 158/8 in their 20 overs.

In response, Falcons Women got off to a shaky start as Danielle Wyatt was dismissed for just 1 run. However, Chamari Atapattu played a match-winning innings of 78 runs off 50 balls, including eight fours and five sixes. Marizanne Kapp and Mariko Hill also played important innings of 23 runs off 10 balls and 19 runs off 11 balls respectively. Falcons Women chased down the target of 159 with ease in the 18th over, winning the match by 6 wickets.

Marizanne Kapp and Mariko Hill were the pick of the bowlers for Falcons Women, taking three wickets each. Sana Fatima was the most successful bowler for Barmy Army Women, taking one wicket for 22 runs in her three overs.
