Harmanpreet Kaur and other batters power Melbourne Renegades to a decent total
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Melbourne Renegades posted a competitive total of 171/6 in their allotted 20 overs. The key contributors for their innings were Harmanpreet Kaur, who played a crucial knock of 52 runs off 49 balls, and Georgia Wareham, who blazed her way to 48 runs off just 25 deliveries. Hayley Matthews also contributed with 31 runs off 24 balls as the Renegades top-order showcased an impressive batting display.
The Perth Scorchers Women’s bowlers put up a commendable performance to restrict their opponents. Alana King, Chloe Ainsworth, Amy Edgar, and Taneale Peschel each picked up a wicket.

Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine help Perth Scorchers chase down the set target
In response, the Perth Scorchers Women chased down the target with 2.4 overs to spare, finishing at 172/4 in 17.2 overs. Sophie Devine smashed a brilliant 52 runs off 31 balls, including three fours and four sixes. However, Mooney was the top-scorer for her side as she contributed with 59 runs off 44 balls, setting the stage for their successful run chase.
The Melbourne Renegades Women bowlers found it challenging to contain the Scorchers’ batting lineup. Sarah Coyte was the most successful bowler for the Renegades Women, claiming two wickets for 34 runs. Georgia Prestwidge and Matthews also chipped in with wickets, but they were unable to stop the Scorchers from reaching their target.
