The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially revealed the 16-member Women’s squad for the imminent One-Day International (ODI) series scheduled in the Pakistan Women tour of Bangladesh 2023.

In the context of the ICC Women’s Championship cycle 2022-2025, Bangladesh are currently standing at the ninth spot in the points table, having secured only one victory in nine matches. This ODI series is a significant part of their campaign in the championship.

Bangladesh’s recent performance

Bangladesh are heading into the ODI series after defeating Pakistan in the recently concluded Three-match T20I series by the margin of 2-1.

Notable developments

Nigar Sultana will retain her role as the team’s captain for the upcoming ODI series. Notably, seasoned all-rounders Salma Khatun, Lata Mandal, and opener Sharmin Akter, who were part of the squad during the team’s previous bilateral ODI series against India earlier in 2023, have been omitted from the current lineup.

Nevertheless, Salma and Sharmin have been designated standby players for the upcoming series. In their place, Sumaiya Akter and Nishita Akter Nishi have earned spots as the two new additions to the ODI team’s roster.
