In the third T20I of the West Indies Women’s tour of Australia 2023, Australia Women secured a convincing victory over West Indies Women by 47 runs. This win helped Australia seal the series by 2-1.

Australia Women Innings: 190/9 (20 Overs)

Australia Women, after winning the toss, posted a competitive total of 190/9 in their 20 overs. Tahlia McGrath was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a brilliant 65 runs off just 34 balls. Ellyse Perry contributed 40 runs to the total, while Phoebe Litchfield provided a late flourish with 36 runs off 17 deliveries.

The West Indies Women’s bowling attack had mixed success, with Shamilia Connell being the most successful, taking three wickets for 25 runs.

West Indies Women Innings: 143/10 (19.5 Overs)

In response, West Indies faced a challenging target but could only manage 143 runs before getting bowled out in 19.5 overs. Hayley Matthews was the top-scorer for the visitors, playing a blistering knock of 79 runs off just 40 balls. However, she received limited support from her teammates as Australian bowlers kept taking regular wickets.

Darcie Brown was the pick of the bowlers for Australia, claiming three crucial wickets for 20 runs. Ashleigh Gardner also made an impact with her spin, taking three wickets for 32 runs.

Player of the Match:

The Windies captain Hayley Matthews was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for her scintillating batting display.
