England Women’s Innings

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, England Women posted a formidable total of 273/8 in their allotted 31 overs. The innings began with an early setback as Tammy Beaumont departed for just 2 runs. However, Maia Bouchier played a remarkable knock, scoring 95 runs off 65 deliveries, including 12 fours and 2 sixes. She set the stage for a scintillating display of batting by England.

The standout performance came from Natalie Sciver, who blazed her way to a sensational century. Sciver’s breathtaking innings of 120 runs off 74 balls featured 18 boundaries and a six. Her record-breaking knock became the fastest century ever scored by an English woman in ODI cricket, surpassing the previous record set by Charlotte Edwards 11 years ago.

In response to England Women’s imposing total, Sri Lanka Women faced a daunting task. Their innings was marred by regular wickets as they struggled to find momentum. Hasini Perera was the top scorer for Sri Lanka Women, amassing 32 runs off 24 balls, including 6 boundaries. However, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, and the innings concluded at 112/10 in 24.5 overs.

England Women secured a convincing victory, defeating Sri Lanka Women by a massive margin of 161 runs. With this thumping win over Sri Lanka, England also sealed the three-match ODI series 2-0.
