England’s innings was led by a resilient performance from Tammy Beaumont, who scored a crucial 81 runs off 96 balls, supported by Amy Jones with a brisk 48 off 40 balls. In response, New Zealand Women started steadily with Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer, but the English bowlers, led by Natalie Sciver‘s excellent spell of 3 wickets for 21 runs, kept the pressure on.
