India’s Jemimah Rodrigues is all set to feature in England’s The Hundred Women’s competition for the third time. Although Jemimah wasn’t retained in the draft for the marquee event held earlier this year in March, she now has been bought in as a last-minute injury replacement for Australia’s Heather Graham by Northern Supercharges.
It is worth mentioning that The Hundred Women’s tournament has been surrounded by many injury issues in recent times and also saw the withdrawal of a few star players from the upcoming event.
The most recent blow to The Hundred Women’s was caused when renowned Australian cricketers Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry were pulled out of the tournament by Cricket Australia (CA) just days before the commencement of the event due to injury concerns. However, star India player Jemimah’s inclusion will now provide a big relief for the organisers.

Other Indian player’s participating in The Hundred Women’s 2023:
Jemimah was the second-highest run-scorer in the first season of The Hundred but was out of action in most of last year’s edition due to a wrist injury. She is also only the fourth Indian women cricketer participating in The Hundred Women’s 2023.
Apart from Jemimah, Richa Ghosh (London Spirit), Harmanpreet Kaur (Trent Rockets), and Smriti Mandhana (Southern Brave) are the other Women in Blue players to be part of the English event.
Jemimah shares her views on returning to the English tournament:
Speaking about becoming part of The Hundred Women’s for the third time, Jemimah expressed her excitement over returning to the tournament. She even talked about missing the last edition of the event.
“I’m so excited to be back in The Hundred. It’s a world class competition and I’ve had so much taking part in it previously. I was very disappointed to have to withdraw last year through injury so it’s great to be back. Headingley is a brilliant ground to play at, with great fans, and I can’t wait to be back out there,” Jemimah was quoted saying by ESPNCricinfo.
