Shafali Verma, the explosive Indian Women cricket team opener, has excelled in her class XII CBSE board exam and proudly shared her results on Instagram on May 13. She expressed her happiness with the outcome and added that her focus now is solely on cricket.

Notably, Shafali, who hails from Haryana, made her international debut in 2019 and has so far represented Team India in 79 international matches. In the inaugural Women’s U19 T20 World Cup earlier this year, she made history by becoming the first captain to win the tournament.

Further, Shafali also impressed one and all in the inaugural edition of Women’s Premier League (WPL) leading Delhi Capitals (DC), to the finals of the tournament.

Despite a packed schedule due to her professional commitments on the field in 2023, Shafali managed to take her exams and excelled in them. She took to her Instagram and wrote: “2023 mei ek aur bohot special 80+ smash kiya, but iss baar 12th boards mei! I am very happy with my results and can’t wait to give my all to my favourite subject – cricket!.”

It is worth mentioning that Shafali was a highly coveted player during the auction for the first season of the Women’s Premier League in February. She was bought by the Capitals for INR 2 crore and went on to score 252 runs in 9 matches, with a batting average of 31.50 and a remarkable strike rate of 185.29. She also hit 13 sixes, the joint-most in the tournament. As there are currently no scheduled matches for the women’s team, Shafali and other players are taking a break from the game. However, they are expected to return to the field in the upcoming months.
