The hosts South Africa are all set to lock horns with defending champions Australia in the final of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at the Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday (February 26).

The much-awaited summit clash of the tournament will begin from 3:00 pm local/1:00 pm GMT/6:30 pm IST. Notably, it is the first time South Africa have reached the finals of a world cup event.

Both Proteas and Aussies have battled each other in 23 T20I games so far, with Women in Yellow emerging victorious in 19 of those clashes. The most recent encounter between the two teams took place in the group stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup itself, where Australia comfortably defeated the hosts by six wickets.

Although Australia are favorites to win the championship, South Africa also cannot be taken for granted as they reached the finals by defeating a strong team like England in the semis.

Pitch report:

The track at the Newlands support the batters but also provides assistance to the spinners as the game progresses. The average score at this venue is 160.
