The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the much-awaited Women’s T20I Team of the Year for 2022 on Monday (January 23).

After every calendar year, ICC recognizes 11 outstanding cricketers from around the world and unveils a team to acknowledge those best players who performed excellently in the past year. Notably, this is done for all three formats of the game.

ICC’s most recently revealed team of the year is the Women’s T20I Team for 2022. The team features four players from India, which is most by a nation, followed by Australia with three players named in the team. Meanwhile, New Zealand, England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have one player each in the eleven.

From India, Smriti Mandhana has been picked as opener, Deepti Sharma as all-rounder, Richa Ghosh as wicketkeeper and Renuka Singh as fast bowler. All four had a terrific 2022 and also guided the Indian side to victory on many occasions last year.

New Zealand’s Sophie Devine was named captain of the team by ICC as she slammed 389 runs last year and was also the second-highest run-scorer at the Commonwealth games. On that note, let’s have a look at the complete eleven of Women’s T20I Team.
