In the second T20I of the Bangladesh Women’s tour of Sri Lanka 2023, the hosts registered a dominant 7-wicket triumph to set up the series-decider on Friday, May 12.

The decision to bowl first turned out pretty well for the Islanders as Sri Lankan bowlers came up with a brilliant performance bundling out Bangladesh for a mere 100 in 18.3 overs. Top scorers for Bangladesh Women were Shamima Sultana with 18 runs and Rubya Haider and Sobhana Mostary with 16 runs each.

Sri Lanka Women’s bowlers put up a strong performance with Udeshika Prabodhani, Sugandika Kumari, Inoka Ranaweera, and Kavisha Dilhari all taking 2 wickets each.

In response, the home team chased down the target with ease, scoring 101 runs with a loss of only 3 wickets in 18.3 overs. Captain Chamari Atapattu led the charge with a brilliant knock of 33 runs off 27 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six.

Similarly, Harshitha Madavi also contributed with 29 runs, and Kavisha chipped in with 20 runs. For Bangladesh Women, Fahima Khatun took 2 wickets, while Rabeya Khan picked up one scalp.
