The atmosphere at Headingley is buzzing as Northern Superchargers Women take on Oval Invincibles Women in Match 25 of The Hundred Women 2025. With the home crowd in full voice, the contest has already delivered a standout moment that has set the tone for the evening.
Annabel Sutherland produces a peach to dismiss Marizanne Kapp
The highlight of the first innings came on the 42nd ball, when Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland bowled what many are calling the ball of the tournament. Facing the experienced Marizanne Kapp, Sutherland delivered a good-length delivery that pitched around middle and jagged back sharply. Kapp, caught off guard, saw her stumps shattered as the crowd erupted. The South African star walked back for just 6 runs, while Sutherland celebrated with her teammates. The dismissal has already gone viral on social media for its sheer brilliance.

Kate Corss, Sutherland keep Oval Invincibles at bay
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Oval Invincibles Women found runs hard to come by against disciplined Superchargers bowling. Skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill top-scored with a crucial 37 off 30 balls, anchoring the innings when wickets kept falling around her.
For the Superchargers, the bowling duo of Kate Cross and Sutherland stood out. Cross was miserly with her spell, conceding just 16 runs in 20 balls while also claiming two wickets. Sutherland, apart from her magical ball to Kapp, picked up 2 for 26, ensuring the Invincibles could not break free in the middle overs.
Despite some late efforts, the Invincibles had to settle for a modest total of 125/6 in their 100 deliveries. With the target now set, the onus shifts to the Superchargers’ batting unit, who will be looking to chase down 126 runs at Headingley.
