Grace Harris continued her sparkling form in The Hundred Women’s 2025, steering London Spirit to a nerve-shredding three-wicket victory over Manchester Originals at Old Trafford on August 11. Her unbeaten 50 off just 32 balls proved decisive as Spirit chased down a target of 123, clinching their third straight triumph in the tournament with only two balls left in the contest.

Manchester Originals sets a stern challenge for London Spirit

Manchester Originals, batting first after losing the toss, endured early setbacks. The Spirit’s bowlers struck quickly, with Georgia Redmayne taking a superb catch to remove Kathryn Bryce and Amelia Kerr claiming wickets in a tight spell. Originals tumbled to 10/2 and then 46/4, as key players Kerr and captain Beth Mooney fell cheaply.

West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin anchored the innings with a resilient 36 off 30 balls, supported by Fi Morris (a brief cameo) and Alice Monaghan, who contributed 18 not out. The Originals managed to rally with lower-order runs, ending at a competitive 122-6 from their 100 balls, despite Charlie Dean’s disciplined 2-18 and Sarah Glenn keeping the run rate in check for the Spirit.

London Spirit’s reply was rocky, with early wickets falling. Redmayne and Dani Gibson were dismissed rapidly, leaving Spirit vulnerable at 27/2. Kira Chathli steadied the ship with a composed 34 from 30, building a platform for Grace Harris‘ onslaught alongside key contributions from her teammates.

Harris unleashed her power in the latter stages, smashing five fours and two sixes, including a vital maximum when 16 were needed off the final 10 balls. Just as the game wavered—with Issy Wong and Charlie Dean both dismissed in consecutive balls by Bryce—Sarah Glenn stepped up, driving Bryce’s hat-trick ball for a boundary and then striking the winning runs with two balls remaining. Spirit finished at 124/7, Harris standing undefeated and earning the Match Hero award for her calm brilliance under pressure.
