The much-awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to kick off on March 04, with Mumbai Indians locking horns with Gujarat Giants in the opening game. Apart from Mumbai and Gujarat, three other teams taking part in the exciting competition are Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz.

The first double-header will take place on March 05, where Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI. In the evening, UP Warriorz will square off against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium. The league stage will end with a UP Warriorz versus Delhi Capitals match on March 21 at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI.

Out of five teams, three will reach the knockouts, with the league topper qualifying directly into the final. The second and third-placed teams will play an Eliminator, and the winner will go into the final. Notably, the Eliminator will be played at the DY Patil Stadium on March 24, while the grand finale will take place at Brabourne Stadium on March 26.

Smriti Mandhana will lead the Royal Challengers, while Harmanpreet Kaur shall be captaining the Mumbai-based franchise. Meg Lanning has been picked to lead the Delhi team, similarly, Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney shall be captaining the Warriorz and Giants.
