The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20I series against Ireland. Fast-bowling all-rounder Fatima Sana will continue to lead the side as Pakistan gear up for a three-match bilateral series set to be played at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin from August 6 to 10, 2025.
This tour marks an important chapter in Pakistan Women’s cricket calendar as they continue to build towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and test their bench strength in overseas conditions.
Eyman Fatima gets her first senior team call-up
The biggest talking point from the squad announcement is the inclusion of 22-year-old Eyman Fatima, who has been handed her maiden senior team call-up. The promising batter caught the selectors’ attention with her dominant run in the National Women’s T20 Tournament held in Karachi this May, where she racked up 287 runs in eight games at a strike rate of 155.14. Her aggressive batting style and fearless approach have added depth to Pakistan’s top-order options.
Eyman was also part of the Pakistan squad at the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup in 2023 and has since made steady progress at the domestic level. Her selection is a reflection of the PCB’s focus on grooming young talents for long-term success.
Squad picked after extensive training camp in Karachi
The Women’s National Selection Committee selected the squad from among 24 probables who participated in a Skills Camp currently underway in Karachi, which will conclude on July 27. Following this, the final 15 will undergo an intensive pre-series camp to fine-tune their skills before heading to Ireland.
The squad comprises a mix of experienced campaigners and emerging talents, with names like Muneeba Ali, Aliya Riaz, and Diana Baig providing balance to the team. Left-arm spinner Nashra Sundhu and leg-spinner Tuba Hassan are expected to shoulder spin responsibilities, while pacers like Waheeda Akhtar and Sadia Iqbal add depth to the bowling unit.
