England secured the Women’s T20I series against West Indies with a second consecutive win, this time at the County Ground in Hove. The home side now leads the three-match series 2-0, with one game remaining. It was a well-rounded performance from England, marked by disciplined bowling, sharp fielding, and a composed batting display during the chase.
Strong bowling performance from the English side
After winning the toss, England chose to bowl first and made full use of it. Visitors West Indies struggled early, losing three wickets for just 18 runs in the powerplay. England’s bowlers kept the pressure on with consistent line and length, not allowing the visitors to settle.
Lauren Bell and Em Arlott were the most effective bowlers, each picking up three wickets. Although Shemaine Campbelle and Shabika Gajnabi offered brief resistance with a 34-run stand, it wasn’t enough to build a competitive total. England’s fielding and overall control with the ball limited West Indies to a low score.
Nat Sciver-Brunt powers a quick chase for the home team
Chasing a modest target, England lost a wicket on the first ball of their innings. However, skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sophia Dunkley quickly stabilised the innings with a steady partnership. Both batters rotated the strike well and found boundaries when needed. Nat scored a quick fire 55 runs in 30 balls, including 10 fours.
Their calm approach ensured England reached the target without further loss, finishing the match with 64 balls to spare. The win confirmed the series victory and reflected a well-balanced team performance.

Player of the Match: Em Arlott
Arlott was named Player of the Match for her outstanding bowling performance. She delivered a disciplined and economical four-over spell, conceding just 14 runs and picking up three crucial wickets. Her spell included the wicket of Hayley Mathews – centurion in the last game – which played a key role in breaking the back of the West Indies batting lineup. Arlott’s accuracy and control helped England dominate early and set the tone for a comfortable win.
