The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the India women’s squads for the upcoming tour of England, featuring five T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals from June 28 to July 22, 2025. The announcement signals India’s intent to field full-strength sides in a crucial year for women’s cricket, with the ODI World Cup at home and the T20 World Cup in England on the horizon.

Harmanpreet Kaur set to lead India on England tour

Harmanpreet Kaur will continue as captain across both formats, with Smriti Mandhana serving as vice-captain. The selectors have largely retained the core group that recently clinched the tri-series in Sri Lanka, aiming for consistency and experience in challenging English conditions.

The 15-member T20I squad sees the much-anticipated return of explosive opener Shafali Verma, who missed recent ODI assignments but remains a key figure in the shortest format. The squad also features established names like Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and all-rounder Sneh Rana. Wicketkeeping duties will be shared between Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia. Young pace prospects Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare have been rewarded for their recent performances, while Arundhati Reddy and Amanjot Kaur bolster the seam attack.

For the three-match ODI series, India have named a 16-member squad, retaining most of the T20I core while adding Pratika Rawal and Tejal Hasabnis to strengthen the middle order. The pace department will be led by Sayali Satghare, supported by Sree Charani and Kranti Gaud. Notably, Shafali Verma has been included only in the T20I squad, reflecting a strategic approach to format specialization.

Fast bowler Renuka Singh and all-rounder Shreyanka Patil continue to recover from injuries and are unavailable for the tour. Kashvee Gautam, who was ruled out of the Sri Lanka tri-series with a leg injury, also remains sidelined.
