The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 has been an exciting tournament, with teams battling for supremacy on the field. In the 18th match of the season between UP Warriorz and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, fans noticed a significant change in the Warriorz’s appearance – the players are wearing pink jerseys instead of their traditional yellow and purple.

Why UP Warriorz players are wearing pink jerseys?

For the first time in WPL history, UP Warriorz have donned pink jerseys as a part of their initiative to support girls’ education. The franchise has partnered with Educate Girls, an organization dedicated to empowering young girls through education. By sporting pink, UP Warriorz aim to raise awareness about the importance of education for girls, reinforcing the idea that educating a girl benefits families, communities, and the nation as a whole.

‘Her Education, Our Promise’ armbands

In addition to the striking pink jerseys, the players are also wearing ‘Her Education, Our Promise’ armbands, symbolizing their continued commitment to promoting education for girls. This initiative underscores the franchise’s responsibility beyond cricket, making a strong social statement.
