Kim Garth dismantles Nat Sciver-Brunt’s stumps with a stunning delivery
In the 8th over, bowling full and angling into middle and off, Garth got the ball to skid through sharply. Sciver-Brunt, who was in imperious form, attempted an aggressive heave across the line, but her timing was off. She misjudged the pace, swinging through too early, completely missing the ball.
As the delivery sneaked past her bat, it crashed into the stumps, sending the bails flying and stunning Mumbai’s dugout. Sciver-Brunt had been the driving force behind MI’s chase, smashing 42 off just 21 balls at a blistering strike rate of 200. Her aggressive stroke play had put immense pressure on RCB’s bowlers, but Garth’s breakthrough swung the momentum firmly in RCB’s favor.
The dismissal was met with deafening cheers from the RCB supporters, as they knew they had removed one of Mumbai’s biggest threats. Garth, pumped with excitement, celebrated the crucial breakthrough as her teammates gathered around her. With Sciver-Brunt gone, RCB had a golden opportunity to tighten their grip on the contest and push for victory.

RCB in control as Mumbai Indians stumble in chase at Bengaluru
RCB have taken the upper hand in their WPL 2025 clash against Mumbai at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. After posting a competitive 167/7 in their 20 overs, RCB have put Mumbai under pressure, reducing them to 82/4 at the halfway stage of the chase. With 86 runs still required off the final 10 overs, Mumbai’s batting depth will be tested as the required run rate climbs to 8.60 per over.
RCB’s innings was powered by a sensational 81 off 43 balls from Ellyse Perry, who anchored the innings after early wickets threatened to derail their progress. Skipper Smriti Mandhana provided a blazing start with a 13-ball 26, but Mumbai’s bowlers struck back through Amanjot Kaur (3/22) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (1/40). Perry’s late acceleration ensured RCB finished strongly, setting Mumbai a challenging target on a pitch that has shown signs of slowing down.
In response, Mumbai began aggressively, with Sciver-Brunt smashing a quick-fire 42 off 21 balls to give them early momentum. However, RCB’s bowlers fought back, with Garth (2/23) and Georgia Wareham (1/10) picking up crucial wickets. The biggest breakthrough came when Garth cleaned up Sciver-Brunt, halting Mumbai’s charge. With Harmanpreet Kaur and Amanjot Kaur at the crease, Mumbai still have a chance, but RCB’s disciplined bowling attack has put them in the driver’s seat as the game heads into a tense second half.
