The Pakistan women’s cricket team will host South Africa in a three-match T20 International (T20I) series, set to kick off on September 16 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The series will serve as crucial preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in the UAE next month.
The Proteas Women are expected to arrive in Multan on September 13, giving them a few days to acclimatize before the opening match. The series is seen as an important warm-up for both squads, allowing them to fine-tune their strategies and get valuable match practice ahead of the global tournament.
Group A and Group B breakdown for the T20 World Cup
As both teams gear up for the World Cup, the group stage matchups have already been decided. Pakistan will compete in Group A, which features heavyweights like Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, South Africa finds itself in Group B, alongside Bangladesh, England, Scotland, and the West Indies. This upcoming T20I series offers a chance for both teams to test their mettle against strong opposition before the World Cup begins.
