Winning the toss and opting to bat, Bangladesh Women set a formidable total of 191/2 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Murshida Khatun, who played a stellar knock of 80 runs off 59 balls, including 10 fours and a six. She was well-supported by Nigar Sultana, who scored a quickfire 62 off 37 balls, featuring 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Dilara Akter contributed a solid 33 off 20 balls, while Rumana Ahmed chipped in with 6 runs off 4 deliveries. The Malaysian bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Elsa Hunter and Mahirah Ismail managing to pick up a wicket each but at a high cost.

Disciplined bowling keep Malaysia batters at bay
In response, Malaysia Women were restricted to 77/8 in their 20 overs, never quite finding their footing against the disciplined Bangladesh bowling attack. Elsa Hunter top-scored with 20 runs off 23 balls, while Mahirah Ismail added 15 runs off 25 balls. The rest of the Malaysian batting lineup failed to make significant contributions, with only Wan Julia (11) and Winifred Duraisingam (8) reaching double figures.
The Bangladesh bowlers were relentless from the start. Nahida Akter was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets for just 13 runs in her 4 overs. She was well-supported by Jahanara Alam, Sabinkun Nahar Jesmin, Rabeya Khan, Ritu Moni, and Shorna Akter, each taking a wicket and maintaining tight lines and lengths.
