Nat Sciver-Brunt’s dazzling century grabs headlines

Electing to bat first, England Women posted an impressive total of 302/5 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was anchored by a scintillating century from Nat Sciver-Brunt. The experienced campaigner smashed her ninth triple-figure score in WODIs. She smashed 124 runs off 117 balls, including 14 fours and 2 sixes.

Nat Sciver was well-supported by Maia Bouchier (34 off 33), Danielle Wyatt (44 off 42), and Alice Capsey (39 off 42). Despite early setbacks, including the dismissal of Tammy Beaumont (11 off 22), England’s middle order ensured a formidable total.

Sophie Ecclestone keeps Pakistan at bay

In response, Pakistan Women were bundled out for 124 runs in 29.1 overs. Muneeba Ali was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 47 runs off 55 balls. However, she received little support from the rest of the batting lineup, with only Aliya Riaz (36 off 41) managing to make a notable contribution. The England bowlers were relentless, with Sophie Ecclestone leading the charge, taking 3 wickets for 15 runs in her 4.1 overs.

Apart from Ecclestone, Lauren Bell (5 overs, 2 wickets, 26 runs), Nat Sciver (5 overs, 2 wickets, 11 runs)
And Kate Cross (5 overs, 1 wicket, 19 runs) also chipped in with valuable contributions. Nat Sciver was also named Player of the Match for her splendid century and contribution with the ball.
