The global qualifier features a diverse array of teams, including Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, UAE, USA, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. These teams will battle it out to secure their place alongside the already-qualified nations in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
Qualified teams for T20 World Cup
Australia, South Africa, England, India, New Zealand, and the West Indies secured direct qualification to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 by virtue of their top-six finishes in the 2023 tournament held in South Africa. Additionally, Bangladesh earned automatic qualification as hosts, while Pakistan secured their spot based on their position in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings.
Format of the tournament
The tournament follows a rigorous format, with the teams divided into two groups of five. Each team will face off against all other teams in their respective groups once during the group stage. The top two finishers from each group will advance to the semi-finals, where they will compete for a chance to secure their spot in the prestigious T20 World Cup.
