The anticipation for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction has reached a fever pitch as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the official player auction list for the much-anticipated event set to take place in Mumbai on December 9.

A total of 165 players are slated to be up for grabs, with a diverse mix of talent from India and abroad. The BCCI media release disclosed that out of these, 104 players hail from India, showcasing the depth and quality of homegrown talent. Additionally, 61 overseas players will add an international flair to the league, including 15 associate players, highlighting the global appeal of the WPL.

In a bid to foster emerging talent, the auction will feature 56 uncapped players who will be vying for attention from the franchise teams. Notably, the number of uncapped players is almost double that figure, with 109 promising talents eager to make their mark in the league.

With 30 slots available across the teams participating in the WPL, the competition is expected to be fierce. This includes a provision for nine overseas players, further emphasizing the league’s commitment to providing a platform for international cricket stars to showcase their skills.
