In a thrilling Women’s Big Bash League 2023 encounter at North Sydney Oval, the Brisbane Heat Women secured a hard-fought victory against the Sydney Sixers Women by three wickets.

Put in to bat first, the Sydney Sixers posted a competitive total of 146/8 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Ellyse Perry was the standout performer for the Sixers with a blistering 49 runs off 30 balls, featuring eight fours and a six. Chloe Tryon‘s contribution of 42 runs off 33 balls and Maitlan Brown‘s 18 runs off 20 balls further bolstered the total. Meanwhile, Brisbane Heat bowlers delivered a collective effort. Nicola Hancock, Jess Jonassen and Courtney Sippel took two wickets each.

Brisbane Heat Women managed to chase down the target with just six balls to spare, finishing at 147/7 in 19 overs. Grace Harris led the charge for the Heat, scoring 39 runs off 19 balls, with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Georgia Voll also played a significant role, contributing 39 runs off 38 balls.

Ashleigh Gardner was the pick of the bowlers for the Sixers, taking three wickets for 20 runs in her four overs.
