Saturday witnessed an enthralling contest as Bangladesh and India battled it out in the third and final ODI, resulting in a thrilling tie.
After Bangladesh set a target of 226 runs, India fought valiantly but fell just short, being all out for 225 in 49.3 overs. The tie meant that both teams shared the trophy with a 1-1 result in the 50-overs series.
The match also witnessed a moment of heated emotion when India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her frustration towards the umpire after her dismissal.
On the fourth ball of the 34th over, Nahida Akter got the crucial wicket of Harmanpreet, who was given out LBW off a Fahima Khatun delivery. In her anger, Harmanpreet hit the stumps and directed some strong words towards the umpire as she walked off the field. She was even seen showing a sarcastic thumbs-up to the Bangladesh fans on her way to the pavilion.
Harmanpreet’s dismissal came at a crucial juncture in the game as the Women in Blue were looking to chase down the target. The Indian skipper attempted a sweep shot, but the ball seemed to brush the gloves before being caught at slips, leading to her departure from the crease.

A lot of umpiring decisions in the #BANvIND series have been questionable.
However, not sure if Harmanpreet Kaur's outburst can be justified.pic.twitter.com/wRHEdT6RXM

The match took a dramatic turn when Bangladesh made a stunning comeback. India appeared to be cruising towards victory at one stage, but the tables turned drastically when Harleen Deol and Deepti Sharma were both run out in the same over. The Bangladeshi bowlers capitalized on the situation and bowled tightly, leading to India losing their last six wickets for a mere 34 runs.
In the end, Jemimah Rodrigues was left stranded on 33 with no partners to support her.
With the 3rd ODI ending in a tie, both teams shared the trophy.
