In an exciting development for women’s cricket, Team India will travel to Bangladesh for the white ball series in July. According to cricbuzz, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)’s women’s wing chairman, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, has officially confirmed that Bangladesh will host the Indian women’s cricket team for a limited-overs leg. This development marks a significant milestone as the Shere Bangla National Stadium prepares to host a women’s international game for the first time in 11 years.
“Yes, we will be playing a white-ball series against India women’s national cricket team in July and all the matches will be played in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium,” said Nadel.
Notably, the last time Bangladesh women’s team played at the iconic Shere Bangla National Stadium was in 2012 when they faced off against South Africa. Since then, SBNS has witnessed numerous men’s international matches.
Speaking about the upcoming series against India, all the matches will be day games, providing an opportunity for fans to witness thrilling cricketing action under natural daylight conditions. The Indian team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on July 6, adding to the excitement among cricket enthusiasts in Bangladesh.
Both teams will compete in a series comprising three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and an equal number of T20 Internationals (T20Is). The T20I leg of the series will kick off on July 9, setting the stage for fast-paced, high-energy encounters between the two teams. Subsequently, the ODI leg of the series will commence on July 16, offering fans a chance to witness longer battles and strategic gameplay.
