England captain Heather Knight has her sights firmly set on an extraordinary summer of Ashes cricket, following her involvement in a Tower Bridge projection alongside England men’s cricket team captain Ben Stokes.

As part of the countdown to the highly anticipated men’s and women’s series against Australia, giant projections of Knight and Stokes were illuminated onto the iconic Tower Bridge in London. This remarkable display highlighted the excitement and significance surrounding the upcoming Ashes clashes.

Knight reckoned that this summer is going to be huge for England women’s cricket and they can’t wait. She also highlighted the excitement of playing alongside the men’s team and the prospect of having more matches at prominent venues.

Notably, the ticket sales for the women’s series have already gone past 70,000 which has left Knight thrilled. She expressed the immense significance of playing in front of such large crowds, emphasizing that it is a massive boost for the team.

“This summer is going to be massive for women’s cricket, we really can’t wait. To be side by side with men’s team and to have more games in major venues is so exciting. It’s massive for us to play in front of such big crowds and the record-breaking ticket sales will really give us an extra boost when we’re out there on the field during the Women’s Ashes,” said Knight as quoted by Mail Sport.

“I remember seeing the England Men’s and England Women’s teams on the double-decker bus in 2005 and it would be amazing if both teams could have a similar summer this year,” she added.

The Women’s Ashes is all set to begin with a one-off Test at Trent Bridge on Thursday, June 22. Following the Test, England will take on Australia in the 6-match white-ball series, including 3 T20Is and as many ODI games.
