In the third and fourth match of the ongoing Emerging Women’s Asia Cup, Pakistan and India registered their respective victories.

In the first game of the Tuesday’s double header, Nepal gave tough fight to Pakistan but the Women in Green eventually recorded a close 9-run triumph to kick off their campaign. After being asked to bat, Pakistan were bundled out for just 87 in 19.2 overs. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored for the side with 28 runs off 36 balls.

Indu Barma and Kabita Kunwar were the pick of the bowlers for Nepal, picking up three and two wickets, respectively. Kabita Joshi (2/16) and Sita Rana Magar (2/16) also bagged two scalps each. In response, the Nepal team went really close but fell 9 runs short. Kunwar, who shined with the ball, chipped in with a valuable contribution of 20 from 32 balls.

Syeda Aroob Shah and Tuba Hassan sizzled with the ball for Pakistan. Whule Aroob Shah bagged a couple of wickets for 16 runs in her quota of 4 overs, Hassan picked up two scalps while giving away 23 runs in 4 overs.

In the second fixture of the day, Team India opened their account with a dominating 9-wicket win over Hong Kong. Bowling first, the Women in Blue put up a top notch performance with Shreyanka Patil being the major contributor.

Patil bagged a sensational five-wicket haul for just 2 runs in 3 overs as India packed the host for just 34 in 14 overs. Mariko Hill with 14 was the only batter to score in double digits for Hong King. Team India then chased down the paltry target inside 6 overs with nine wickets in hand.
