The opening ceremony of the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place ahead of the first WPL match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday (March 4) evening.

Earlier in the day, the BCCI launched the official anthem of the WPL titled ‘Yeh Toh Bas Shuruat Hai’ composed by Shankar Mahadevan, featuring six artists.

The final of WPL 2023 will be played at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26.

Investors have already ploughed huge amounts into the WPL, including Indian tycoon and Gujarat Giants owner Gautam Adani, but it remains to be seen what audiences the tournament can attract and whether it will turn a profit.

When will the WPL 2023 opening ceremony start?

The opening ceremony will begin at 6:25 pm IST. The clash between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians will bowl-out at 8 pm IST, preceded by a toss at 7:30 pm IST.
