The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to take place in Mumbai from March 4 to March 26, 2023. The CCI-Brabourne Stadium at Churchgate and the DY Patil Stadium at Nerul in Navi Mumbai are the designated venues.
Five teams, Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals, will compete for the magnificent trophy.
The WPL 2023 will have 22 matches in total.
Some big names like Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, Heather Knight, Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, Deandra Dottin,Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk will participate in the Indian T20 extravaganza.
According to the WPL rules, all teams are allowed to have five overseas players, rather than four, in their playing XI, if one of them is from an Associate nation.
