Harmanpreet Kaur struck a sensational, unbeaten 171 as India stunned defending champions Australia in the second semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.
Harmanpreet smashed 20 fours and seven sixes in a whirlwind innings of 115 deliveries to help India overcome a slow start and amass 281/4 in 42 overs after the match in Derby was reduced following heavy rain in the morning.
The 28-year-old also did not miss out on the theatrics while reacting to an incident involving her teammate Deepti Sharma. Harmanpreet looked extremely animated about her partner’s insurgency when she hit the ball to deep mid-wicket and picked up two runs.
It was the angriest century celebration of all time as Harmanpreet slammed her bat and helmet on the ground after speaking some words to Deepti.
However, Harmanpreet apologized to the youngster soon after realizing her mistake and hugged her.
