Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has offered Indian women’s team star Harmanpreet Kaur a job in the Punjab Police following her stellar performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.
On Sunday, Amrinder posted a congratulatory message on Twitter where he offered the post of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Harmanpreet if she so desired to join the police force.
Apart from the praise, he also declared a cash reward of Rs 5 lakhs to the 28-year-old all-rounder.
Following the footsteps of the Punjab government, Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh lauded the efforts of Indian wicket-keeper Sushma Verma in a similar fashion. Singh offered the post of DSP to Sushma in the Himachal Pradesh police in a bid to reward her exploits in England.
“The government has invited Sushma Verma to join the post of DSP in HP Police as she has brought laurels to the state and to the people of Himachal Pradesh by excelling herself in international cricket,” he said.
