Mithali Raj becomes the leading run-scorer in Women’s Cricket: Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli lead the way in congratulating the captain

Mithali Raj, the bedrock of India’s batting line-up, has broken the record for most runs in Women One-Day Internationals during the World Cup match against Australia, surpassing England’s Charlotte Edwards (5992).

Mithali reached the phenomenal landmark in her 183rd ODI, taking 164 innings – 16 less than Charlotte. She also became the first player in Women’s cricket to compile 6,000 ODI runs when she struck a six off Kristen Beams.

Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli lead the way in congratulating Mithali on the micro-blogging website- Twitter.
