3 Australian players from the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup who didn’t make the 2024 squad
The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin in October in UAE.
Earlier it was scheduled in Bangladesh but ICC changed the venue due to the political unrest in the country.
Participating teams will once again aim to lift the coveted trophy.
Defending champions Australia recently announced their squad for T20 World Cup 2024.
The squad saw a few changes compared to the previous edition of the tournament.
Here are three players from Australia's 2023 squad who did not make the 2024 lineup.
1) Meg Lanning
Meg Lanning led Australia in the last edition of T20 World Cup. However, she has now retired from the international cricket.
2) Heather Graham
All-rounder Heather Graham has been selected for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand but will not be traveling to the UAE for the World Cup.
3) Jess Jonassen
Jess Jonassen, one of Australia’s top spin bowlers, was surprisingly left out of the 2024 T20 World Cup squad. With the spin-friendly conditions expected in the UAE, her exclusion raised eyebrows as Australia focused on other spin options.
