4.) Meg Lanning:
Chasing is an art and Australia’s 25 years old batter certainly has it. After Chamari’s scintillating knock, someone had to step up for the Kangaroos and Australian skipper did the job for her side. She smashed 152 off just 135 balls leading the Aussies to a comfortable win against Lanka. It was a treat to watch her cruising towards the target.
5.) Mithali Raj:
Highest run getter of all time in women’s ODI cricket showed all her experience in the virtual quarter-final against New Zeland. The Indian skipper played a responsible knock of 109 off 123 balls and made the game a much easier.
6.) Dane van Niekerk:
The phrase “Captain leading from the front” was full of examples in the tournament. Proteas captain Dane van Niekerk was just another example. The leg spinner was supreme with her wrist against West Indies, 4 wickets for none. Dane gave “Zero” run for claiming 4 wickets and became the only bowler to do so in International cricket including both and women.
